Round 2 of the Grand Prix for adults will take place on the evening of Friday 12 June in Skáli, as part of Fjarðarstevna. The race is organised by Skála Ítróttarfelag together with FÍF, and a children’s race with the usual age groups is also on the programme that evening.
In the children’s race, the two younger age groups (0–7 years and 8–10 years) will run 500 metres and the two older groups (11–13 years and 14–17 years) will run 1 kilometre. These are so-called “out-and-back” courses. The adults will run a route that is 8.7 km long. We start at Eik Banki above the shipyard and run some 50–100 metres before turning right and running up the 500-metre-long hill. At the top we turn left and run along the new road out along the fjord. When we reach Innan Glyvur, we turn left again down the hill, and then we run back in along the old road all the way into Skáli to Eik Banki, where we started.
The starting gun will be fired at 19:00, and the plan is to hold the children’s race while the adults are out on the route. Registration is available here on the site, and bib numbers can be collected from 18:00. It will be possible to register on the day until 18:30. Medals will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in all categories. The changing rooms in the sports hall will be available.
As usual, the entry fee is DKK 50 for adults and DKK 20 for children.
Come along in large numbers – everyone is welcome!
