Eligibility and fees
Participants in the Faroese Championships must be born in 1993 or earlier and must be members of one of the member clubs of FÍF. The FÍF competition committee may in certain cases make exceptions to this rule. The entry fee is DKK 50, regardless of how many events are entered. Registration takes place here on the site, and the registration deadline is Thursday evening at 22:00. There will be no registration after this!
100 m and 400 m
If 6 or fewer participants are registered, there will be straight finals, at 15:25 and 15:35 and at 16:30 and 16:40 respectively. If there are between 7 and 12 participants, there will be two heats, with both winners plus the 4 fastest times going through to the final. If there are between 12 and 18 participants, there will be three heats, with the winners plus the three fastest times going through to the final.
800 m
If 8 or fewer are registered, there will be straight finals at the time the heats were scheduled. If 9-16 are registered, there will be two heats, with the winners and then the 4 fastest times going through to the final. If more than 17 are registered, there will be three heats, with the winners plus the three fastest times going through to the final.
Long jump
All participants get three jumps. The best 8 then go through to the final itself, where they get three more jumps.
Hammer, discus, javelin and shot put
Women and men compete at the same time. All participants get three throws in the qualifying round. The best 8 then go through to the final, where they get three more throws.
Competition kit
At these Faroese Championships all athletes must compete in their club’s competition kit, or at the very least in the club’s colours.
Medals
Faroese Championship medals will be awarded to places 1-3 in each event.
Officiating duty
The three largest and most active clubs, Bragdið, Hvirlan and Treysti, must each provide 4 officials/helpers. The three smaller clubs, Frælsi, Hvistan and Roysnið, are exempt from officiating duty on this occasion.
