Machine-translated from Faroese and not yet reviewed. Read the original.

On Saturday at 13:00 the athletics programme gets under way at the Reykjavík International Games. The meet ends at 15:00, and by then three Faroese athletes will have competed. Bjørk Herup Olsen (18), Rebekka Fuglø (16) and Rúni Seloy (15) will represent the Faroe Islands on the 200-metre indoor track in Laugardalur.

Bjørk has recently aged out of the talent group, while Rebekka and Rúni have 2 and 3 years left in the group respectively. We at FÍF are therefore very proud to be able to send such young athletes abroad to compete against Iceland’s very best runners.

Our competition schedule is as follows:

13:35 Bjørk Herup Olsen – 1500 metres
13:50 Rúni Seloy – 800 metres
14:20 Rebekka Fuglø – 400 metres

The competition will be shown live on Icelandic television, and if possible a link will be posted here so that everyone can follow along.

The team leaves the Faroe Islands on Friday and returns on Monday. The team leader on the trip will be Hallur Holm.

The following weekend, Stórmót ÍR will be held in Reykjavík. This is a large youth meet, and the rest of FÍF’s talent group will be taking part. More on that next week.
