At Fjarðastevna in Vestmanna on Saturday, VÍF, Bragdið and FÍF will organise round 5 of the Grand Prix for adults. The competition committee has felt that running courses of between 5 and 10 kilometres throughout the whole summer series is a little monotonous. That is why the course at Sundalagsstevna was extended by one lap. And to make the series even more varied, we are going to try out a new 4-kilometre course in Vestmanna. So now it’s time to dig out those fast shoes.
Meet at the coffee van out at Fjørð, where the Sam used to dock. Bib numbers will be handed out here from 10:00. The race is 5 laps of 770 metres. The start is at the large car park out at Fjørð. A map of the route will be posted here before race day.
Competition is in the usual categories:
- Men b. 1900-1994
- Women b. 1900-1994
- Men Veterans b. 1955-1964
- Women Veterans b. 1900-1964
- Men Super Veterans b. 1900-1954
At around 11:30, or straight after the adults’ race, the children’s race starts with the usual age grouping. The age groups are as follows
- Girls and boys b. 2003 and later
- Girls and boys b. 2000-2002
- Girls and boys b. 1997-1999
- Girls and boys b. 1993-1996
The two youngest age groups run one lap of 750 metres and the two older groups run two laps, or 1.5 km.
Registration is here on the site or on the spot from 10:00. It makes things much easier if you register here on the site under “registration”.
There will be medals for the top three among both adults and children.
The entry fee is DKK 50 for adults and DKK 20 for children.
Changing is possible in the coffee van (no showers, though).
