Once again this weekend is packed with athletics.
Top Run
Ítróttarfelagið í Mjørkadali is once again organising the annual Top Run race from Kollfjarðadalur up to Sornfelli. It is a “fun”, exciting and demanding race for those who want to try something different and more challenging.
The race starts on Saturday at 15:00 and is free of charge. It is still possible to enter the race, but this must be done at the start between 14:00 and 14:30. The start is at the EFFO station in Kollfjarðadalur, 75 metres above sea level, and from there it is 9.8 km uphill to Sornfelli, which is 680 metres above sea level.

The Viðareiði Run
Hardly a weekend goes by without Treysti having something on the programme. This weekend they are organising the Viðareiði Run for the seventh year in a row. The race is organised in much the same way as the regular stevna runs, but with slightly differently composed age groups.

Danish Youth Championships
Last weekend we had the Faroese Youth Championships at Tórsbreyt. This weekend it is the Danes who are organising the Danish Youth Championships. Treysti has sent its biggest names down to this competition, and hopefully a medal or two will come of it. Rebekka Fuglø and Marnar Djurhuus cannot represent Treysti or the Faroe Islands in this kind of competition, so they will be running in green vests representing Vejle Atletikforening. Their schedule looks like this:
- Saturday at 13:20: Marnar Djurhuus, 1,500 metres
- Saturday at 14:00: Rebekka Fuglø, 1,500 metres
- Sunday at 10:20: Rebekka Fuglø, 800 metres
- Sunday at 15:50: Marnar Djurhuus, 5,000 metres
Next weekend is also expected to be full of athletics, with the final of the children’s and youth Grand Prix and Tórshavn Maraton. In addition, Faroese participation has been announced at the Danish Masters Championships. More about all of this next week.
