Round 2 of the Grand Prix festival runs was held in Streymnes and Hvalvík on Saturday. Bragdið organised the race, and they had put a lot into it. Both a finish arch and chip timing were used on the day, which gave the event a special feel. On top of that, the weather was almost as good as in Tórshavn, so everyone was in good spirits. The turnout was moderate, but there was no battle for the top places. Rebekka Fuglø and Sam Vang were out of reach and won the open races by close to a minute. Regin Thomsen from Roysnið has improved steadily since early in the winter, and on the day he won a fine silver for himself and his club. He did this by holding off Hallur Holm all the way to the finish. In the women’s race it was Rigmor N. Arge who finished 2nd, just under a minute ahead of Duruta R. á Lofti.
Afterwards there was a children’s run on the programme, and here we saw some very exciting races.
Girls and boys aged 11-13 gave us a really fine and exciting race. From left: Maria, Pauli, Ludvík, Oddvør, Steintór and Dánjal.
