Again this summer, both the youth national team and the A national team will travel to VU-Spelen in Gothenburg, which takes place on 27–29 June. The new standards are now being announced. Not that there’s much new. There are not many changes. Only minor adjustments in line with the changed standards for Island Games selection. This means the changes are mainly in the sprints and middle distances for the older girls.
The squad will be brought together shortly, and the idea is to draw up a plan with the coaches for the period up to June.
The new standards can be found under the “krøv” tab on the front page.
Last year Katarina Høj made the podium at VU-Spelen with a Faroese record in the 800 m, which she lost the day after. Will she take it back this summer?
Marita K. Petersen is not far off the Island Games standard in the javelin. Now it has to happen!
