Information on the Faroese Youth Championships 2014

Machine-translated from Faroese and not yet reviewed. Read the original.

As almost everyone knows, the Faroese Youth Championships 2014 will be held at Tórsbreyt tomorrow and on Sunday. Competition starts at 10:00 in the morning. The weather looks very promising, so everything is set for some very exciting and good competition. Hopefully there will be plenty of people at Tórsbreyt tomorrow and on Sunday.

Below is information for athletes, officials and parents.

Worth noting:

– In preliminary rounds with 2 heats, the first 2 in each heat plus the 2 next fastest times go through to the final on Sunday
– In preliminary rounds with 3 heats, the heat winners plus the 3 next fastest times go through to the final on Sunday
– In sprints without preliminary heats, finals will be held straight away on Saturday

– In the long sprints with 2 or more heats, times alone decide the final result

– In the jumps and throws all athletes get 3 attempts (however, athletes aged 16-17 and 18-19 get 6 attempts in the throws)

– Bib numbers (with names) are to be collected in the room under the clock
– Each club has a contact person who is responsible for handing out bib numbers to the club’s athletes
– Bib numbers must be worn on the front

– Officials and helpers must arrive at least 30-60 minutes before the competition starts
– The head official for each event is responsible for making sure everything is ready before the competition starts
– All officials and helpers must wear the orange “official’s jacket”, which is to be collected in the officials’ room
– Refreshments for officials and helpers will be available in the officials’ room

– Athletes must report to the starter/event official no later than 5-10 minutes before their event starts
– Athletes are asked to compete in their club colours (if possible)

– Medals will, where possible, be presented straight after the event has finished. Athletes/parents/coaches must keep an eye on when the presentations take place

– Spectators, supporters and parents must stay outside the competition area while competition is under way. Each competition area is for athletes and officials only

– All results will be posted on the results board, which hangs in its usual place

– The stadium clock at Tórsbreyt will be used as the official clock on both days of competition!

– On Sunday the day will begin with a parade at 12:30. Clubs gather and line up under the clock 5 minutes beforehand. FÍF hopes that lots of people will turn out for the parade

We wish everyone a good competition :)
