On Saturday at 14:30 there will be an information meeting about the national team and the youth national team. The meeting will be held in the ÍSF building, and we of course hope that everyone who has achieved the A, B, Elite and Island Games standards can come along. We will talk about this summer’s tasks, the new standards and the planning of training camps. Your coaches are of course also welcome to join.
The new qualification standards for national team selection have been posted here on the website. The standards have not changed much compared with last year. We also draw attention to other standards and guidelines regarding various matters.
Quite a lot of athletes achieved the standards last year. If anyone has been left off the list below, please do let us know. These are the names we came up with in the first round:
Island Games standards
Rebekka Fuglø, Margit Weihe Fríðmundsdóttir, Bjørk Herup Olsen, Marna Egholm, Valborg Heinesen, Marita K. Petersen, Hanus Bergsson, Rúni Seloy, Tórur Mortensen, Hallur Simonsen and Rúni Jacobsen.
New and exciting challenges await our very best athletes. From left: Marna, Hanus, Rebekka, Hallur, Bjørk, Tórur and Rúni
A national team standards
Edna Maria Debes, Heri Ziska, Tummas Napoleon Arge and Julian Gregersen
Youth national team standards
Alda Sigurðsdóttir Lamhauge, Sára Debesardóttir, Unna Ró Jacobsen, Bára Jógvansdóttir Glerfoss, Oddvør Josephsen, Hervør Niclasen, Elin Niclasen, Birita Ryan, Elisabet Holm Simonsen, Kristianna Skarpheðinsdóttir Joensen, Óluva Allansdóttir Joensen, Andrea Kirstina Møller, Maria Biskopstø, Steingrímur Hallsson, Teitur Bjarnastein, Hans Erland Thomsen, Steintór Egholm, Niklas Kruse, Andreas Bjarnastein Antoft, Gunnar Sivertsen, Miso Buha and William Helmsdal
The squad for VU Spelen in 2015 was the largest ever, and it will be even bigger in 2016, when the A national team also comes along.
As mentioned, there is no doubt someone who has been forgotten here. Let your coaches know, or you can call me (Hallur Holm, tel. 228 338 – or leave a message on Facebook).
Some have handed their kit back in, but those of you who have not: REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR FÍF KIT TO THE ÍSF BUILDING.
If you are unable to attend on Saturday, you can send a message on Facebook to: Hallur Holm
We will also be setting up a new Facebook group after we have talked with you.
See you in the ÍSF building on Saturday at 14:30.
