On Saturday and Sunday the Faroese Youth Championships will be held at the Tórsbreyt track. The Faroese Youth Championships are the biggest competition we have, and they also need a large team of officials and helpers on both days. We need around 200 hours of volunteer work to make sure everything runs as it should.
We have therefore set up a registration for officials and helpers. Anyone can help: parents, siblings, friends, board members and anyone else who is interested. Anyone can hold a rake, carry throwing implements back, look after a wind gauge and so on. So we hope as many people as possible will lend a hand with this. You can sign up for either four or two hours each day.
Officiating and helping out at athletics can also strengthen your relationship, these two have asked me to pass on. On top of that, you get to wear an orange jacket.
On Saturday the competition runs from 11:00 to 15:00 and on Sunday from 13:00 to 17:00. We expect officials to arrive an hour before the competition starts, and helpers half an hour before.
