Faroese Youth Championships 2016: Timetable and information for Saturday

Machine-translated from Faroese and not yet reviewed. Read the original.

The weather won’t be at its best tomorrow, when we hold the Faroese Youth Championships. Postponing by a few hours could of course have been one solution, but so much has already been arranged, and we don’t know what effect it would have on participation and officiating. We take comfort in the fact that the wind direction tomorrow is the very best at Tórsbreyt, and it will be dry.

Sprints will be held in all age groups on Saturday. Where there are more than six participants, there will be heats, with the final on Sunday. Where there are six or fewer participants, there will be a straight final on Saturday. (yes, different information has been given about this before)

Medals will be presented immediately after each event finishes, or as soon as the results are announced. Medal winners should therefore stay ready by the podium after each event, so that we can handle the presentations smoothly.

Several people have kindly signed up as officials and helpers. The team of officials and helpers on Saturday is as follows:

Shot put – 11:00 – 13:00
Karin K. Petersen, official, Andreas Josephsen and Julianna Frederiksberg

Discus and ball throw: Jorie, Fríðrikur, Jacquelina, Gunnvá – Regin, Ann and Sunniva take over

Long jump: Eyðun Jacobsen, official, Arnfinn Johannesen, Poul Poulsen, Anja Poulsen, Dan Kruse Thomsen 11:00 – 14:30

Sprint/middle distance: Starter: Niels Jákup, Wind gauge: Haldis S, Timing computer: Jógvan G and Debes C – 11:00 – 14:50

Organisation: Results on the board: Ingilín, On the microphone: Steingrímur and Hallur, Officials’ refreshments: Borgarhjørt, Medals: Rigmor and Regin

Chief official: Hallur

Officials must arrive one hour beforehand, so that the competition area can be made ready and the correct equipment with the correct weights can be laid out. The events must start on time.

We would also urge everyone to bring plenty of warm clothing.

The start lists will be posted on the board before the competition begins tomorrow.
