TF VK-1 Runt Agnið to be held on 5 November

Machine-translated from Faroese and not yet reviewed. Read the original.

On Saturday 5 November the TF Winter Series gets under way again. FÍF has a main sponsorship agreement with Tryggingarfelagið Føroyar, which is where the name of the series comes from.

Jan Elmar won last year as well as the overall Winter Series, and super veteran Jens won all of his races last year

The first round is held in conjunction with the traditional “Runt Agnið” race, which starts at 11:00 at Tofta Skúli and is organised by Roysnið. This is the first round of the TF Winter Series 2016/17, and at FÍF we hope the runners will once again turn out in large numbers for the races, of which there will again be eight this winter. To complete the Winter Series, five of the eight rounds must be run, but everyone is of course welcome to run as many rounds as they like.

Super veterans Rani, Jens and Gunnar were strong last year, and veteran women Duruta, Rigmor and Krista are ready for yet another Winter Series

The team competition, which was very well received last winter, will be repeated in the same format.

The rules for the TF Winter Series can be found under RULES above.

We have all become a year older since last winter, and women super veterans now have their own category, so the new categories are as follows:

  • Women and men open category (b. – 2000)
  • Women and men veterans (b. 1962 – 1971)
  • Women and men super veterans (b. – 1961)
  • Women and men juniors (b. 1996 – 2000)
  • Girls and boys (b. 2001 – 2005)

All categories except girls and boys run Runt Agnið, which is 10.3 km. From Tofta Skúli and out along the road. The route goes up onto Agnið, to Runavík and back out to Toftir, where the finish is on the road down to the Toftir quay. The girls and boys run 5 kilometres. They start over at Mýrarnar, close to the road down to Toftavatn, and follow the same route to the finish at the Toftir quay. Everyone starts at the same time – 11:00.

Registration takes place on the website here by 22:00 on Friday evening 4 November, where payment can be made by DANKORT, or at the latest half an hour before the start, in which case payment must be made in cash. Bib numbers must be collected and paid for at Tofta Skúli from around 10:00. As usual, the fee for adults is DKK 50.00. Girls and boys pay DKK 30.00.

We will use the changing rooms at Tofta Skúli, and can also shower there afterwards.

The get-together after the races is always enjoyable

After the race Roysnið invites everyone to a get-together with coffee, cake and the medal presentation. Everyone gets coffee and cake, but only the top three in each category receive medals. You can read more about the Winter Series in another article on the site.
