The Ólavsøka Run for children and adults takes place on Thursday evening, 27 July. Registrations are now picking up, which is just as well, as there are only three days to go until the race, which is for both children and adults.

Young and old, recreational and elite: the Ólavsøka Run is for everyone. Not least the children!
As always, Bragdið is organising the race, and they naturally hope to see as many people as possible at this very enjoyable running event. They write the following on their website:
There’s no Ólavsøka without a run, and this year is no exception. The starting gun for the race goes off on 27 July at 18:00, and for most people it is also the starting gun for a good Ólavsøka.
The race is based down on Skálatrøð. It’s flat and good for running there, and not least it’s very spectator-friendly. People from every corner of the country usually take part, and for many Faroese living abroad, running the Ólavsøka Run is a fixed tradition. The adults’ course is 5 km, and we can recommend it to young and old, seasoned and less seasoned runners alike.
The children don’t hold back either, and more than once a new star has burst through ahead of the others and won unexpectedly. The children run shorter distances than the adults. The courses range from 430 metres to 1.3 km. The adults run at 18:00, and once everyone has crossed the finish line, it’s the children’s turn to run, the youngest first. We hand out the medals as we go.
We at Bragdið always look forward to the Ólavsøka Run, and once again this year we would like to welcome you all to take part in the race. We are very pleased with our good cooperation with Ingibjørg Lützen, who lets us use her premises to hand out bib numbers. This year we will be behind Østrøm, with the entrance on Sigmundargøta.
It’s easier for us to prepare if you register in good time, and it’s very straightforward, as you can pay when you register. The registration deadline is 25 July at 17:00, and the fee is DKK 80 for adults and DKK 40 for children. Go to our website bragdid.fo or the Facebook page Ítróttarfelagið Bragdið, where you will find a link.
Late registration costs DKK 100 for adults and DKK 50 for children and can be done between 16:30 and 17:30, when bib numbers are to be collected.
See you on 27 July on Skálatrøð to give Ólavsøka a false start.
