Coaching course 11 and 12 November 2017

Machine-translated from Faroese and not yet reviewed. Read the original.

In recent years ÍSF has regularly organised a popular coaching course, Venjari 1. In the first years Danes came over to teach it, but now Heri Ziska is the instructor. He has trained as an instructor for this very course, which is also being held on 28 and 29 October. That course, however, is fully booked.

Because of the strong demand, ÍSF is organising another Venjari 1 course on 11 and 12 November. FÍF naturally wants the coaches in our clubs to be as well trained as possible, and will therefore pay the course fee, which is DKK 650 all inclusive.

On its website, ÍSF describes the course as follows:

“Would you like to develop your skills, build a network across sports and get inspiration for the coming competition season?

Then an ÍSF course is something for you – see the description below.
Course for coaches – Venjari 1
– Sport for children and young people.
– Sport and training
– Sports injuries – no thanks

On 11 and 12 November 2017 another course for coaches will be held.

It starts on Saturday 11 November from 09:00 to 20:30 and continues on Sunday 29 October from 09:00 to 17:00. The course takes place at the ÍSF building in Tórshavn.
Instructor: Heri Ziska.

Topics:

sports pedagogy, the sporting environment, child development, training, safety and responsibility, ethics and morals. Why train? And how? Warm-up, anatomy and physiology, training principles, teaching principles.
The course alternates between theory and practice, so it is a good idea to bring sports clothing.
There is no exam, but 100% attendance is required. A certificate of participation is issued at the end of the course.
The course is part of the coach education programme of DIF, the Danish sports confederation. It is therefore possible to build further on the course.

Target group:

Coaches, assistants and leaders of children and young people. Everyone who has an interest in and responsibility for children and young people taking part in sport.
What you will gain:
– Knowledge of children’s physical, psychological and social development
– You will learn about pedagogy, different types of coaches, goal setting, and the importance of a good sporting environment.
– Practical ideas for games and training for children and young people
– Knowledge of how the body works and what to take into account in connection with training. Basic knowledge of training and physiology. Knowledge of how sports injuries can be prevented and of the importance of proper rehabilitation if an injury has occurred.

Admission requirements:
Participants must be 15 years or older. However, we may make exceptions to the admission rule if special circumstances justify it.

Participation fee:
The course costs DKK 650. Teaching materials and meals are included. Payment is due once registration is confirmed, to account: 9181 1512333.

Registration:
Register by sending an email to jfh@isf.fo. The registration deadline is 3 November 2017.”

Heri Z award 1
Heri is without doubt the one who has done the most to develop his skills in coaching athletics, but also in general and basic training – going by his qualifications.
