Faroese 10 km Championships and the Betri Winter Series final on Saturday at 11:00

Machine-translated from Faroese and not yet reviewed. Read the original.

As part of the annual Spring Race (Várkappingin), Roysnið and FÍF are organising the Faroese 10 km Championships in Runavík on 17 March at 11:00. This will also be round 8, the final round, of the TF Winter Series 2017/2018. Although this is the Faroese 10 km Championships, it is also an open race that anyone can enter. To take part in the 10 km, however, you must have been born in 2001 or earlier. To compete in the Faroese Championships, you must be a member of a club under FÍF.

While the adults run 10 km, girls and boys (born 2002–2006) run 5 km. Juniors (born 1997–2001), who also compete in the open category, will of course also be running for the Faroese 10 km Championships.

As in previous years, the course is just over 9 laps around Runavík: out along the main road, down onto the quay just before the roundabout, back along the lower road, and up again onto the main road just beyond the Magn station, where runners turn and head back out again.

As usual, the start is outside Kiosk Vár, and the finish is by Sjómansheimið, a little before the downhill stretch.
