The race in Hósvík, which is also round 2 of FÍF’s Grand Prix running series, will be held on Saturday at 11:00. Everyone is welcome to take part, but to count in the overall standings you must be a member of one of the athletics clubs. After the adults’ race there will be a children’s race.

The age groups in the Grand Prix running series are as follows:

  • Women open category (b. 1992 or earlier)
  • Men open category (b. 1992 or earlier)
  • Women (W45+) b. 1962–1953
  • Men (M45+) b. 1962–1953
  • Women (W55+) b. 1952 or earlier
  • Men (M55+) b. 1952 or earlier

The groups in the children’s race are the same as before:

  • Boys/girls up to 7 years (b. 2001 or later)
  • Boys/girls up to 10 years (b. 1998–2000)
  • Boys/girls up to 13 years (b. 1995–1997)
  • Boys/girls up to 17 years (b. 1991–1994)

The adults run 7 kilometres. The start is in the middle of the village, heading north along the old village road. Where the new and old roads meet, the route turns right and runs back south to the main access road, where it turns right again up to the start, and there turns left. The route then runs under the main road and down along the quay, where runners go round the southernmost building at the end of the quay and back up to the start. This loop is run three times.

The children run in the upper part of the village. The two younger groups run 500 metres and the two older groups 1000 metres.
