Plans to set up a so-called talent group have been under way for some time. This is a group for 12- to 17-year-olds who show particular aptitude for the various athletics events.
This weekend a training camp will be held up north in Klaksvík for the young athletes who have been selected for competitions abroad over the past year.
To join the talent group, athletes must meet results standards, which have been set for both girls and boys in each age group from 12 to 17. The entry standards can be found at the bottom of the page.
In addition to the results standards, other conditions will also apply. Further details about the conditions and the plans for the group will be announced very shortly.
FÍF has appointed Hallur Holm as coordinator and selection manager for the group. Guttorm Sørensen is also attached to the group.
