On Saturday and Sunday 20 and 21 August, the senior Faroese Track and Field Championships will be held at the Tórsbreyt track. Saturday’s events start at 11:30 and run until 14:30. After that, Tórsbreyt will be overrun by 1,500 women taking part in the Women’s Run (Kvinnurenningin). On Sunday the action starts at 13:00, and we expect the last medals to be presented at 16:00.
An exciting race here in the 100 m at the 2015 Faroese Championships. This year it will be even more exciting. Who will be the Faroes’ sprint queen in 2016? Margit? Alda? Hildur? Elisabet? Or someone else entirely? And will we get a new Faroese record? (photo: Hvirlan)
Registration has been open for a few weeks, and the deadline for entries is midnight on Tuesday evening. The timetable will be drawn up on Wednesday evening and will be posted on the website on Thursday. The events on each day are as follows:

Sunday:
200 m, 1,500 m, 100/110 m hurdles, 3,000 m steeplechase, triple jump, high jump, shot put, javelin and 4 x 400 m
Everyone is free to take part. However, all participants must be born in 2001 or earlier. Entries are made under “Registration” here on the website.
The entry fee is DKK 30 per event. An invoice will be sent to the club. Participants who are not members of a club pay in cash before the competition starts.
FÍF hopes for as large a turnout as possible. The more of us there are, the better the competition, and the more fun it is for the spectators.
