Competition format
All competitions take place at athletics facilities. Events are fixed before the competition begins.
There is competition in sprint, middle distance, throws and jumps on each day of competition. This means that, for example, boys 10-11 have four MBM Grand Prix events and can compete in sprint, middle distance, throws and jumps. The same participant can take part in all four events in their age group.
In technical events, the 8-9, 10-11, 12-13 and 14-15 age groups get three attempts, while the 16-17, 18-19 and men/women groups get 3 attempts in the preliminary round + 3 further attempts for the best six.
